    Parshas Vayeira (Genesis 18-22 )
    By Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Schiffman

Do you ever have a task that you must do but really don’t want to? Do you procrastinate, pushing it off until the last possible minute? This usually leads to missed deadlines and lost opportunities. Yet, even if you successfully completed the task, did the dread of working on it and the guilt of not working on it hover over you like a gloomy haze and tempestuous cloud throughout the process?

In order to avoid the anxiety of procrastination, social psychologist Dr. Ian Newby-Clark suggests that we put the “worst things first.” By prioritizing what we don’t want to do and getting it done at the beginning of the day we do a better job of taking advantage of our morning willpower (which will deplete over the course of the day), avoid that looming, negative feeling, and generate more positive momentum for later tasks.

Abraham is a paradigm of alacrity and productivity. Being a pillar of kindness, we are awed but not shocked at how swiftly he tends to the needs of his guests. Despite the fact that he was healing from his brit mila, his circumcision, the verses reiterate how he “ran” and “quickly” cared for them. The Sages also learn from this scene that the righteous say little but do much (Talmud, Bava Metzia 87a).

Rabbi Yerucham Levovitz (Daat Torah, pp. 117-118) suggests that the Sages aren’t simply just commending those who follow through on their word. Rather, they are emphasizing the importance of not spending time talking about accomplishing. Discussing, deliberating, and debating about action is essentially procrastination. The righteous don’t talk about what they are going to do, they just do. They “talk” through their actions.

It is one thing to be prompt, proactive, and productive when you are doing what you love. It is an entirely different challenge when the required task is one that you dread. After seeing Yishmael behave inappropriately, Sarah tells Abraham that she does not want Yishmael to be associated with Isaac. Abraham is terribly pained by the fact that Sarah wanted him to send away Yishmael (see Bereishit 21:11 and Rashi). Yet, despite his reservations, God tells him to listen to Sarah.

Abraham loved Yishmael deeply, and while Abraham was always going to follow through on God’s command, it was still a very difficult test for him. Yet, we are told “Va-yashkem Avraham ba-boker” – Avraham woke up early in the morning to follow through on sending Yishmael away. Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan highlights that despite the difficulty, Abraham acted with alacrity to complete his task (Chofetz Chaim al HaTorah, p. 62). He didn’t wait until after breakfast or until the end of the day. He did the worst thing first.

We can learn from Abraham not to spend too much time talking about doing, but being proactively productive, especially for things that we value and enjoy. But he also serves as a model for how to accomplish and follow through when the task is important but distressing. By doing the worst things first we ensure that we don’t fall into the enticing trap of procrastination.

There are a lot of interesting theories to why some people are more night hawks/owls than morning larks. Some of them are similar to the whole introvert/extrovert dynamic. Then there are some that point to genetics and the internal clock. I also wouldn’t rule out environment.

    Healed by Kindness

    by Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Schiffman

    Parshas Vayikra

When experiencing intense or chronic pain a common and logical response is to decrease activity and to focus on the self. Yet, research indicates that people in pain who focus outside themselves by, for example, volunteering, reap benefits such as a decrease in pain and other depressive and disability symptoms.

The same is true when it comes to ageing. People generally tend to focus on the needs of the self and decrease their activity, while similar data suggest that volunteering as an older adult is associated with improved well-being, lower mortality rates, and may even decrease the general functional decline that comes with ageing. In one fascinating study, researchers measured how quickly older adults walked and climbed stairs both before and after a year’s worth of volunteering and found that those that volunteered had improved walking and stair climbing speeds by years end.

When portraying the scene of Avraham welcoming the angels disguised as unidentified nomads, the Torah provides a detailed account of how Avraham interacted with them in preparation and execution of the mitzvah of hachnassat orchim, welcoming guests. In fact, Radak suggests that the primary purpose of the entire story is to provide for us a paradigm for how to perform acts of kindness.

Even a cursory reading of the story leaves the reader in awe of the speed Avraham exhibited in performing the mitzvah. For every task, Avraham doesn’t just walk – he runs. The preparations are done with zest and vitality. His actions are even more impressive, as the Ramban points out, since he was old, weak, and in pain from the recent brit mila, and that he had a household full of servants ready to assist. Yet, Avraham teaches us importance of doing the mitzvah with alacrity and making sure to do most of the mitzvah on one’s own.

Delving even deeper into the text, we can glean additional lessons. To perform acts of chesed, kindness, properly, we need a degree of social intelligence. By being aware of the probable mindset of others, we can behave in a way that is more effective. Alshich suggests that there are several reasons a guest may feel uncomfortable accepting an invitation. Primarily, they don’t want to be an imposition on their hosts. This could manifest in terms of the financial burden incurred by hosting, as well as the time and energy required by the host to clean the house or to tend to the guests needs. In addition, the guests themselves may be in a rush and don’t want to get caught up in a long layover at the host’s home. Avraham uses strategic language in speaking to the guests to allay these fears. He tells them that he has people who can help so it won’t be such a burden, and that they can stay under the tree, so they don’t have to worry about intruding inside the house. He also tells them that he will just bring out a little water and a slice of bread so that they don’t feel bad, but then brings out entire meal so they can be satiated. Finally, part of the reason he moves so quickly, is that in case they were in a rush, he doesn’t want to make them feel uncomfortable if they needed to leave.

On a midrashic level, Rabbi Eliezer Ashkenazi points out that the Sages write that one of the angels came on a mission to heal Avraham. Yet, it doesn’t explicitly indicate anywhere in the verses when or how that occurred. Rabbi Ashkenazi suggests that the healing was a blessing that came as a direct consequence of the kindness that Avraham performed. When the angels acquiesced to his request to stay, he was healed. His pain decreased, and his speed, alacrity and vitality increased. After committing and commencing an act of kindness, Avraham – old, weak, and in pain – was healed.

May we all learn from Avraham, the paradigm of chesed, and personally commit to passionately perform acts of kindness, with nuanced social awareness and sensitivity, and by so doing, live a life of health, happiness, and vitality.

BTW; can you email that bit you referred to from Rabbi Singer, when I mentioned how no one “finds Hashem” in prison like they do Jesus or Mohammad? I would love to hear/read his take.

        1. Proud Conservative Mom

          I have to find it.
I will try to do so, Be’Ezras Hashem ASAP, may Hashem enable me to find it.
It was from one of his classes or shows on YouTube.

It really made an impression on me because it’s so very true.

No one finds Hashem when they’re using drugs on the street, and sitting in a pool of their own vomit.
          (Rabbi Tovia Singer said that.)

          Here’s the concept:

To find Hashem, one has to use their intellect.
Once one comes to the truth, of course, the emotional components come in because a person is cultivating and nurturing a relationship with Hashem, who is our Creator and Heavenly Father.

I have a range of emotions when I speak to Hashem.
It depends on the day and situation.
          That’s as it should be.
I always have tremendous love and gratitude.
Every single breath is a tremendous gift.
Of course, I daven to be healed, etc. Hashem wants to hear from me.
          Not just me.
He wants a relationship with all of his creations.
However, He doesn’t force Himself on anyone.
          It’s a person’s choice.
That’s what it means to be made in the image of G-d.
It refers to free will ALONE.

I know a few awesome converts to Judaism and three incredible Noachides.
They all told me their stories.
Each one came to the realization that only Judaism is truth and makes sense via research, critical thinking, and intellect.

You, yourself, have told me manifold that Judaism makes sense.
          Indeed it does!
It’s Divine and therefore is perfection.

Discovering the truth of Hashem, never comes from one looking for a quick and easy magical fix.
          Au contraire.

(What I just posted hereinabove, is half Rabbi Tovia Singer, and half from my studies and learning.)

FYI, if you have completely rejected Christianity, only recognize Hashem as G-d, and keep the other Noachide Laws, then you yourself are also a Noachide.

          1. Weary Traveler

Please find that video. Because that taps in to a gut feeling I have had for the longest time.

I do know that I want certain types of people to avoid me, and Christianity seems to attract most of them, and somehow, that doesn’t seem like an accident.

I honestly don’t even believe that most of them actually “love” Jesus as much as they claim. It’s just another drug, or battering ram to excuse their bad behavior. Again, I consider who Christianity’s founder actually is, and none of it is surprising.

I remember one time Carolyn and I were talking about this, and I was expressing my disdain for the drug addict or ex gang banger who suddenly becomes the holy roller, thinking they are “saved.” She mentioned they are unstable people to begin with, and said, “I guess they need some place to go.” And yours truly here, answered in the typical fashion I am best known for and said, “how about straight to Hell.” LOL

Today is an off day though I am better currently.

I try not to be fearful of our world; however, it is difficult.

          2. Proud Conservative Mom

I’m so grateful to hear that you are feeling better.

            Of course, it’s difficult.
            Very much so.
Kudos to you for trying to rise above it.

My very wise mother taught me years ago, that living in fear isn’t living with any quality of life.

            She is CORRECT.

She is a cancer survivor who almost died several times.
She was always a very strong woman and one of the wisest that I have ever known.

She fought against what was seemingly the impossible.
She is a living miracle and inspiration.

        Good morning Bill!
        Everything is a bloody fortune.
The cost of kosher food is astronomical.
        That includes gefilte fish.
        You obviously noticed.

A bit of trivia for you.
Do you know why we eat (NEVER me) gefilte fish on Shabbos — specifically gefilte fish?

For those who have not yet learned, there are times my brain goes into a very perverse mode. So, let us talk about Speaker of the House. McCarthy is a milquetoast version of Paul Ryan. He needs to go. As the Speaker of The House does not have to be an elected House Representative, let my perverse brain pop this idea, General Michael Flynn. I see y’all frowning or laughing or shaking your heads. It is worth it to watch exploding heads. Although she is not, in my opinion, a true conservative, Nikki Haley. Just so I could look at his gorgeous eyes (Yes, UncleE knows I have this affliction.), Ric Grenell. Any other suggestions, perverse offerings accepted?

          1. AuntiE*TFL

Those ARE perverse. I chose Flynn because heads would explode so badly it would take months for cleanup.

          2. Sapper 9

They had to get rid of Flynn because he knows the inner workings of the intelligence agencies and would have dug up a lot of corruption.

          3. Sapper 9

They are both DEMOCRATS, so perverse is what the do.

**note, I am aware that lizard Cheney claims to be a Republican, Christ is at least now admitting that he is a dimwit.

    1. Weary Traveler

Nikki Haley is such a neocon warmonger, that even if she does have any attractive features about her, I can’t see them anymore, if they were ever there.

      1. AuntiE*TFL

I will give her credit for two things. She was a very good Ambassador to the UN. She has been the moving force getting more female and minority Republican candidates to run and often win.

        1. Weary Traveler

I am more than glad for female and so-called “minority” candidates, which is Marxist terminology for non-white, who are actually America first patriots, getting elected and advancing the MAGA agenda.

Although sex and race shouldn’t matter. And I despise the evil Marxists leftist scum for ever making it an issue.

    FYI: Most Excellent News

The Fifth Circuit has just vacated Biden’s new program bribing voters with money to pay off their student loans.

Judge Mark T. Pittman ruled that Biden’s use of the HEROES Act – “a law to provide loan assistance to military personnel defending our nation” – to establish this student loan bribery program is unconstitutional.

          1. AuntiE*TFL

It is my belief they will hope everyone forgets the court decision and will bring it back for 2024 vote buying; however, I am just cynical that way.

      1. Sapper 9

Louie Gohmert as speaker, that would drive the left nuts; however, it should be constitutional, as it only says that the house chooses it’s own speaker and never states that they need to be a member.

        1. AuntiE*TFL

Correct. There is zero requirement it be a member of the House.

My purpose this evening to present candidates that would drive the left into being beefwitted. (Archaic word)

I learned a new word. Well, it is not new. What is new is learning the WWII meaning. The word is blivet. Politely defining it, it means ten pounds of feces in a five pound bag. I feel certain their is someone I can use that on. 🤓😎🤓😎🤓😎

The neighbor asks him for a push. “Not a chance!” says the husband. “It’s three o’clock in the morning!” He slams the door and returns to bed. “Who was that?” asked his wife. “It was Timothy Quinn, from around the corner. He is drunk and he wants a push.” he answers. “Did you help him?” she asks. “No, I did not! It’s three in the morning and its pouring rain!” “Well, you have a short memory.” says his wife. “Can’t you remember about three months ago when our car broke down and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him and you should be ashamed of yourself!” The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, “Quinn, are you still there?” “Yes.” comes back the answer. “Do you still need a push?” calls out the man. “Yes, please!” Is the reply from the dark. “Where are you?” asks the man. “I over here, on the swing.”

    Shabbat Shalom, everyone!

I got a little good news this morning. My part-time gig working for a managed service provider has netted me enough to pay my bills this month without digging into my savings. The CTO of the company promises me it will get better, and there will be more work coming my way. Maybe even a full-time job. 2022 has been a rough year for all of us, but perhaps things will start to look up.

Have a great Shabbos, everyone. I’ll be in and out of NtJP this weekend, and I hope to see you here!

Sure is different from the time I was in uniform. We were treated like garbage and got absolutely nothing whatsoever

          1. Chief Mac

I remember in Israel if a soldier was on leave and had no family in country the first mother that met him had a new family to live with whenever he was off base.

I went in the US Army right after South Vietnam fell so we were treated like the Vietnam vets without any of their benefits

          2. Weary Traveler

it is. They told these boys they are property, and used them as cannon fodder so politicians could enrich themselves. Now many of those vets are on the street.

Where is the so-called “greater good” they supposedly served for them?

          3. John Gillis

Greater good is the mantra of the slavemasters. Our politicians are no longer Americans but globalists.

I don’t want a global government, even if by a longshot America were in charge of it.

          4. Weary Traveler

Because even if America were in charge of it, it wouldn’t be Americanism. Our Federalist papers alone are the polar opposite of the kind of government that global government would require.

A world government would be oppressive by default, much like the system in Communist China.

          5. Proud Conservative Mom

            Shavuah Tov!

Apparently, “the greater good” these days is to not only continue to shaft our incredible veterans, but to also roll out the red carpet in every single manner for the illegal aliens.
Let’s also not forget the cheating for the greater good.
They’re insisting on continuing to foist their tyranny upon us any way they can.
All for our benefit, of course.

          6. Weary Traveler

Ultimately the “greater good” means us living in communist hovels, eating bugs and weeds, while they live in mansions, eating Filet Mignon and lobster.

          7. John Gillis

Crazy thing is, though I love my country, I don’t love America’s citizens particularly. I’ve seen a generation turn hard left, telling us we should embrace socialism, yet still believe they are entitled to all the material goods they desire.

Kids today think it’s “cool” to attack men and women in uniform. It makes me I’ll to my stomach.

Not the first time I have been called a “heathen”, but usually for different reasons. LOL

There’s a reason I rarely ever eat steak. The cuts I like are the more expensive cuts like Filet Mignon. I don’t do T bone, Ribeye, NY Steak…

          3. Weary Traveler

I’ll be honest, since I was a child, I have always been a bit of a picky eater. It’s actually a miracle that I ever tried Chinese food. LOL

But I have very particular tastes. The only ways I would not end up divorced if I ever married, is my wife would either have to be a master chef, or we were really rich and ate out most nights. Otherwise, I would drive the woman bonkers. LOL

          4. John Gillis

I’m like that. In my childhood, I remember Mom telling me, “You can eat the egg salad, or you can get a beating”, to which I would reply as if ordering from the menu: “I’ll take the beating please!”

          5. Weary Traveler

I remember a Calvin and Hobbs strip like that once. Calvin got himself sent to his room without dinner by saying it smelled like “bat barf”, and just ended up ordering a Pizza from his room. LOL

I would have taken the beating too, because I can’t stand egg salad.

          6. John Gillis

Molly Hemingway: “Republican leadership failed Republican voters”
    ______________________________________

I’ve noticed the comatose state in which the Republicans, just like two years ago,
ignoring the large-scale ballot counterfeiting crime, both before the ‘election’ and after the ‘election’.

And even now, as it is unfolding before our very eyes, I hear not a single voice from the GOP leadership
except for DJT – to call out the crooks, by calling a spade a spade.

The reason for this unreal non-behavior is hurting obvious.
McConnell & McCarthy are just male versions of Liz Chaney.
They don’t want the Republicans to win.

I’m really excited to see what will happen when it’s announced – at some point in the next week –
that Kari Lake ‘lost’ the AZ election.
If the comatose behavior then continues, America is lost. Like now Western Europe.

They will prosecute DJT with some hallucinations, and ensure that he cannot run for election as a convict.
Who wants to stop them? Who? Right. No one.

Tee hee… Funny story. My mom keeps in touch with a coworker she had back in the 80s who lives in Southern CA now.

She thought it would be fun to have me call him, since I hadn’t spoken to him myself in forever. So I did, with my mom there and the guy on Speaker. At first he didn’t put two and two together, and apparently thought he had a kid he didn’t know about that had tracked him down. He figured it out, once my mom lost her composure and he heard her laughing in the background. LOL

    1. Weary Traveler

Then you look at Arizona at Kari Lake, a real woman, and quite a looker at that, who has more balls than most Republican males.

          2. Weary Traveler

First of all, they have no “trade” to speak of. If anything, not knowing the subject manner in a way that would get you a good grade in one of those classes is actually a plus in the real world.

          3. Weary Traveler

Here’s how bad they screw up in their trade… When I say no whipped cream on my mocha, I still get whipped cream. LOL

Do not even mention math. My claim to fame, educationally, is scoring the lowest math score, in the Commonwealth, on 7th grade achievement testing. On the other side, I scored in the top 1% on verbal…no surprise there…correct?

          5. Sapper 9

Most of the first season episodes are on YouTube. Carrie Ann Moss, who played Trinity in The Matrix, guess starred in one of the first season episodes, Feeding The Beast. This was back in 1992/93, so way before The Matrix. She’s almost unrecognizable.

OK, how many used to think the Junta in charge would have to somehow push Joe off stage because of his continuing decline?
      Now.
How many see him being kept in place to serve exactly as he has and is certain to? Because humiliating and diminishing America on the world stage is part and parcel of their overall plan and goals?

“How many see him being kept in place to serve exactly as he has…” – Spot on, Felix! You nailed it. Soros knows how to pick’em!

    1. Sapper 9

In Maricopa voters that arrived to the polls on election day, who would have mostly been conservatives, were told that the machines weren’t working, and to put their paper ballot into a box.

It has been reported that those votes were not counted and instead were mixed in with counted ballots, there were way more than 17,000, but that is the number that election officials claim.

Also the ballots were picked up from the USPS and taken to a third party to process, before being counted.

This is not over; but, we know how spineless the RINOS are.

      1. Weary Traveler

This is why I am glad Kari Lake has the heart of a lion. She’s more of a fighter than many males I know.

    2. Weary Traveler

Not 6000 people, 6000 ballots. There’s a difference. I lived in Nevada, and trust me, it is genuinely deep red. Only Clark County is kind of purple, but most of it is very deep red. It’s mostly mining and military. Not many “studies” degrees out there.

        1. Weary Traveler

That’s what accounts for most of the reason Clark County is purple. Most of the ex Californians live in Henderson, which is a major flood zone. The realtors out there tend to steer Californians to Henderson. LOL

      1. John Gillis

I lived in Henderson in ’96. It was deep red then. Because I had long hair (and still do) I had a time getting a job. But once I was working, slinging beers, every one got to know me and I was well liked.

        1. Weary Traveler

This is kind of another thing; CA refugee doesn’t always mean libTARD. But the locals aren’t too happy with the added traffic and crowding, which is a huge coplaint people in other red states are having right now, like Florida, Texas, and Idaho.

One of the common things I see on Truth, even towards fellow MAGA conservatives, is “don’t come here, we’re full. Fix your own state.”

Creating Mental Strength: The Power to Endure Despite Life’s Challenges

    By: Slovie Jungreis-Wolff

Getting rid of mental junk food and learning how to harness the spiritual fortitude that lies within your soul.

When you want to work your muscles you go to the gym. It takes sweat, time and endurance but eventually you start seeing change. You feel better and have more stamina.

What about our mind? Emotional stamina takes us through those tough times we never saw coming. More than willpower, it is our ability to deal with challenges and unexpected circumstances. We usually discover our mental muscle when we confront a great life test. Sometimes we become shaken and realize that we are weaker than we imagined.

How can we help ourselves develop strength under pressure?

    Getting Rid of Unhealthy Habits

To be physically strong, we stop eating junk and start lifting weights.

To be emotionally strong, let’s do the same.

Begin by getting rid of mental junk food. Feeding yourself unhealthy beliefs about your life story, your potential to succeed or blaming others accomplishes nothing. This is like downloading a virus on your laptop. You’d never do it because you know the harm it will cause, so why damage yourself emotionally?

Start clearing out your emotional malware:

*clear out unhealthy beliefs in yourself. Stop saying things like “I never win”, “No one ever likes my ideas”, “My life’s impossible”. We are doomed to failure if we see ourselves in a negative light.

*clear out unhealthy beliefs about others. Stop comparing your life. Stop resenting other people’s success. Challenge yourself to get off Facebook and Instagram a few hours a day. See what happens. Don’t limit yourself by believing that other people control the way you live. Maybe there are people in your life who frustrate you but you choose your reaction. My mother A”H would always say, “Don’t allow people to live in your head rent free.”

*clear out unhealthy beliefs about how life happens. We are used to getting whatever we want with a click of a button. We have forgotten how to wait for things. Amazon Prime delivers into our car trunks in no time. We expect. We want. We get. Instant gratification makes life feel complicated when we don’t have our dreams fulfilled quickly. If this is our attitude we will be left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Ask: Which unhealthy beliefs are preventing me from mastering my life?

    Exercise Mental Weights
Step 1: Work Your Core Muscles
This means that we identify our strengths, our values, and our beliefs. Let’s ask ourselves these basic questions: Do I believe in my ability to succeed? What could I dedicate my time to? What type of person do I hope to become? Focus and clarify a life goal. Set daily targets that are doable even if they may seem small. These goals can be character traits such as working on not losing it when things go wrong. An example is keeping control when you misplace your wallet. Think of it as starting with 5 pound weights and increasing as time goes. Work your way up; what happens the next time someone says something that really angers you?

    Step 2: Allocate Your Energy
If we use a huge amount focusing on worries or negativity, how much energy remains to think positive?

Clear away the habit of allowing others to discourage you, belittle your dreams, or placing yourself in ‘worry mode’. You can’t strengthen your core by wasting energy needlessly.

The moment your head starts taking you to a negative direction, counter the thought with a positive one. Negativity and worrying are ‘brain drains’. We require brain power to strengthen our mental fortitude.

    Step 3: Find Perspective

Perspective means that we decide to focus on the good or the purpose that every situation has. Yes, there may be times that it is difficult to see the positive. This translates into ‘mental strength’.

In life we often ask why? Why did this happen, why did I have to go through this? In Hebrew, ‘why’ translates into ‘lamah’ which can be read as ‘limah?’– for what purpose? We don’t simply ask why me? We move on to ponder. What is the purpose of this challenge? What can I learn, how can I grow, what is the potential here to discover something about myself that I never knew before?

This brings us to endurance; to greatness instead of giving in to failure. Perspective allows us to pick ourselves up and keep on walking despite the stress weighing us down.

See the good now. Ask yourself how to strengthen your values and beliefs despite the disappointments. Success will come when you are able to handle life and maintain self-worth.

Mental strength means that we overcome, even triumph, when life brings hardship.

We need more strong moral role models in our lives-especially the lives of our children. We need to learn from those who created a life of blessing through ‘living strong’.

We have been deluged with witnessing the failings of too many men and women who have succumbed to human frailty.

I have been blessed with parents and grandparents who survived the flames of the Holocaust and inconceivable loss but who endured mightily. When I think of mental strength, I know that I have been privileged to witness the power of the human spirit. Growing up we were never fed ‘emotional junk food’. We were always aware of our ability to create, to find purpose, to keep walking and never ever give up. My father whose entire family perished began life anew and never sank into sadness. He lived with a joy that I still miss today.

My mother was once asked by a university student after she spoke: “Rebbeitzin, you always have a smile on your face. You’ve gone through so much in life, the concentration camps, and the loss of your husband. How can you always be smiling? Tell me, does your smile start on your lips or in your heart?”

My mother replied that she had never really thought about it, but now that she was asked the question she realizes that her smile must start on her lips. “In my heart I have many worries. I know pain. But once I place a smile on my lips, it travels to my heart and makes everything easier.” She demonstrated once again the power to endure, to create connection, to overcome and not fall into despair despite the hardships we face.

Each generation has its challenge. Each person faces his or her life test. We can discover the mental strength to endure and harness the spiritual fortitude that lies within our soul.

The previous government brought the Palestinian leadership, which had been losing the world’s attention, back to the center of the international stage. This government began again to speak aloud of the tragic idea of dividing the Land and establishing a terror state in its heart as a vision of peace and separation; it ignored how the Arabs were determining facts on the ground in the open areas of Judea and Samaria in order to create territorial continuity as part of establishing, Heaven forbid, an enemy state in our Land, suffocating the settlement enterprise and preventing its development and the development of transportation routes (how did Minister Michaeli say it? There is no point in investing because this will not be under our sovereignty anyway…) and we heard no objection whatsoever when the defense minister expressed agreement to dividing Jerusalem when he stated that there is room in the area of Jerusalem for two capitals.

It is against this backdrop that the right-wing government must act in every way possible to promote its political plan, the plan of sovereignty.

To this end, our movement along with a number of organizations and public figures are calling on members of the emerging coalition to demand and act toward the inclusion of the sovereignty plan among the coalition guidelines for the next government.

The application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria will have many dramatic ramifications on the political, security and economic reality, but there is another, no less significant aspect. Sovereignty restores Israel’s policy to the Zionist and ethical path.

The claim for sovereignty restores to the People of Israel not only its rightful status but also the sense of moral justification of our presence in the entire Land of Israel.

The various political plans that have been presented by the Left and its supporters hide a terrible, grave and bitter statement that historical justice does not matter, international agreements have no value, the biblical deed that we have holds no authority, and everything is just a matter of compromises, fear and terror threats – in other words- surrender to extortion. Due to this attitude of surrender, the Left intends to leave future generations without an answer to the question of what right we have to be here; is it only by force? And what about justice and morality?

The application of Israel’s sovereignty over Judea and Samaria provides us with the authority and the right to Gush Dan, the Negev and the Galilee, not only because of the divine promise, which is well-known to members of other religions as well, but also because of the resolution by the League of Nations at the San Remo Conference and its derivatives.

Can it be that since we were exiled from our land and our land was pilfered, that we have lost our rights to it? The people in Israel expect a clear and decisive answer to this question.

The new Israeli government must transmit a renewed Zionist spirit among the people, which has been depressed and humiliated by the discourse of withdrawal and concession. The masses of people of the House of Israel have made a clear statement to the Israeli leadership in the last election. You have the power to restore the Israeli ship of state to its proper course – this is your mission.

The State of Israel has, no matter what, just one insidious state
as foe in this mundane world. Everything hostile since 2020 towards Israel,
whether from the Biden-Junta or Ayatollah/IRGC – has its roots there.

The motive at first, how could it be otherwise, is the combination of anti-Judaism,
      anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism. But that’s only the basis.

What’s really going on is something new, for which there is no term yet.
Only one thing is for sure so far. Israel represents anything & everything
that this power wants to make the people of this world forget under all
circumstances and by all means. A very successful approach in the Americas and Western Europe.

    Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar
    The Sovereignty Movement

The United States, our great friend and ally, continues to cross every line in compromising Israel’s independence.

After it blatantly interfered in our election campaign, it became clear that despite priding itself as being the greatest democracy in the world, the American administration has found it difficult to internalize and accept the democratic choice of the people of Israel.
The United States is continuing the campaign to demonize Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir that it initiated in the weeks prior to election day. Now its ambassador to Israel, Thomas Nides, has gone even farther, in seeking to prevent application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

We all remember quite well the extensive efforts of the Biden administration to intervene in Israeli policy and promote establishment of a consulate for the Arabs of the Palestinian Authority, in the heart of Jerusalem, in violation of Israeli and American law. Now it appears that there is an American emphasis on a new objective, preventing the application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

Last Thursday, Channel 11 reported about a warning issued by Ambassador Nides to the next Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, regarding the possibility that his government would seek to “annex,” in their terminology, the territories of Judea and Samaria. Member of Knesset Yariv Levin, who is expected to be appointed a senior minister in the next government, is, as we recall, considered one of those consistently acting to promote application of sovereignty. Levin said: “We were one step away from application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and I hope that we will spend less time making statements and more time making progress through action.” This statement was enough to elicit a strong reaction from the American ambassador who immediately declared that “the United States and most Arab countries oppose annexation.”

The sense of American patronage and authority vis-à-vis Israel and the corresponding sense of “we were like grasshoppers in our eyes” of the outgoing Israeli government vis-à-vis the American administration led Defense Minister Benny Gantz to suspend all meetings of the Supreme Planning Council, which is tasked with ratifying all Jewish construction plans in Judea and Samaria. These feelings also led to the opening of the Allenby Bridge to an Arab influx and absolute Israeli indifference toward accelerated Arab construction in Area C.

Now, based on that sense of American control over Israel and its policies, intimations have ensued seeking to intimidate Israeli society, world leadership, and the leadership of Israel’s next government to reject Knesset members Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich. “Biden will not work with Ben-Gvir if he is appointed minister,” read the headline on the Walla website. “Biden views the appointment of Smotrich as Defense Minister with severity.” The warnings and panic continue.

For some reason, American intervention in Israeli policy is greeted with equanimity, indifference and perhaps a sense of dependence and helplessness in the face of those who, ostensibly, provide us with political protection in the United Nations, security funding, and weapons so critical to our security. But, is the relationship between Israel and the United States really one-sided? Is it one that requires us to bow our heads and submissively accept the demands of the great benefactor? Are we, indeed, the recipient and the United States the giver?

For years, former Israeli envoy to Washington, Yoram Ettinger, has been citing facts of which our leaders are not always cognizant. Israel, Ettinger claims and elaborates, gives the United States more than it receives. Could that be? How is it that a minuscule country in the Middle East contributes to the only world empire in existence today more than it receives?

Although Israel receives from the United States fighter jets and defense systems crucial for its security and its existence in an environment teeming with enemies, Israel serves as the largest combat laboratory for the United States. The experience gained by Israel against its enemies in actual battles saves the United States many years of research and development valued in the billions of dollars. The lessons learned by the Israeli Air Force are conveyed to the manufacturers of American weapons and they enhance, improve, and augment them. The Israeli lessons are implemented in American weapons and in that way Israel becomes the source of many hundreds of American weapon upgrades in a variety of areas, ranging from intelligence to combat doctrines, from weapons to espionage, cyber capabilities and more. Thanks to Israel, the American army emerges victorious in the ongoing campaign against its competitors in China, Russia and Iran.

Ettinger is insistent on citing the statement of the commander of the United States Air Force, George Keegan: “If the United States was forced to purchase the intelligence it receives from Israel, it would be necessary to establish four more organizations like the CIA.” The same is true regarding the statement of former NATO commander, Alexander Haig: “Israel is the largest American aircraft carrier in the world, which does not require any American presence on board, and is anchored in an area critical to the American economy and its security.”

Had Israel not been present in the Middle East, the United States would have been forced to transfer its best and brightest by the thousands to this region, manufacture more aircraft carriers, and establish more and more American regiments.

Of course, this is not an attempt to minimize what we receive from the United States, but we must not bow our heads as a result. The road between America and Israel is a two-way road.

Moreover, Yoram Ettinger states that “American pressure is the test of Israel’s leadership.” He mentions a series of Israeli leaders who withstood American pressure, were subject to threats followed by American fury and anger; but at the end of the day, steps taken by those Israeli leaders resulted in American appreciation.

This was already true when the first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, decided to establish the State of Israel despite State Department opposition. This was true when Prime Minister Levi Eshkol decided to start the Six Day War with a pre-emptive strike without waiting for the delayed green light from Washington. This was true when Begin decided to apply Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Likewise, it is incumbent upon Netanyahu to look to the country’s leaders since its earliest days, remember his own ability to stand firm in the face of the pressure exerted by President Obama regarding Iran, and to act in accordance with the democratic verdict of the Israeli voter who is interested in seeing Bezalel Smotrich in a most senior position in the Israeli government, as the leader of the second largest party in the government about to be formed. The people of Israel wish to see Smotrich as Defense Minister who will see to Israel’s security, to settlement in Judea and Samaria, and not only there, a Defense Minister who will take resolute action against terrorism and against Iran, and promote the steps leading to sovereignty. In the past, Netanyahu was able to withstand American pressure, and he must do the same now. He has the people’s support.

We must be cognizant of the case of Afghanistan. American security guarantees will not prove reliable when put to the test. There is no nation that will sacrifice its sons on our behalf. We must not allow the continuation of American control over the policies of the elected Israeli government. We are a sovereign and independent nation and must see to our interests with dignity, reliance on our strength and our significance, while at the same time being grateful to our great friend for its contribution.

Let me tip my little toe into the matter of election influencing. Although one shutters at the thought of foreign election influencing, the fact of the matter is countries, not wishing the US well, do contribute to influencing. Mayhaps, it is time Israel carefully look at candidates, who have a positive attitude toward Israel, and attempt influencing of their election through any legal means available.

It is past time we allow politicians to make speeches on Veteran’s Day or Memorial Day!! My comment is based on the second video of her at The Tomb.

      1. Weary Traveler

It’s politicians like them that harm our military in more ways than one. Then get us in to wars because of their money laundering, and then end up causing drafts because of it. And then try to mask it all with these grandiose speeches about collective sacrifice.

That is one of the major reasons why, if I had children, one of my main pieces of advice to them would be “never join the military, because you wont own you anymore.”

        1. AuntiE*TFL

Military service use to be an honorable career; however, all of the academies have gone full woke with CRT. These are not the type of leaders to follow. One can see the adverse impact of the Wokeness by the low recruitment numbers.

          1. Weary Traveler

It goes to something I always say, and people like Woke Milley are perfect examples of what I am talking about.

Is there honor is service? Sure there is. But does serving make you honorable? Nope. Any idiot can put on a uniform, and follow orders to the letter. And I remember there was a good reason that “I was just following orders” was not a legal defense at the Nuremberg trials.

If you follow an order that is telling you to commit a war crime, you are then a war criminal. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I see this now with the soldiers who refused the Franken-Jabs being discharged. Those are the free thinkers, which there is no place for in the military, obviously. So now what are they left with, pretty much? Potential war criminals.

          2. AuntiE*TFL

Did you know the Navy refused chaplains religious exemptions for the vaccine. How in the name of hades does a chaplain not meet the religious exemption?

          3. Weary Traveler

That tells you these people are communists. You do not even have to be religious to qualify for religious exemption, and there is no proof required, just a sincerely held belief. Even an Atheist can, legally, and constitutionally qualify for religious exemption.

So if even an Atheist can qualify, I see no reason a Chaplin shouldn’t.

How about positive election news. Truthfully, this news is very important. At a minimum, 100 school boards were flipped and possibly more. This means no more CRT, no more sexual deviancy teaching/grooming etc. This means parents now have more control over their children’s education as opposed to indoctrination.

    1. John Gillis

That is positive news. Perhaps there is a lesson here. It is time we applied these actions to our representatives in Congress going forward. Every time there is egregious legislation taken against us, voice your resistance as these parents have done with the school boards. A grassroots movement is needed to put these bums on notice.

      1. AuntiE*TFL

It is my feeling by the time candidates reach national prominence they mouth platitudes for grass roots movement; however, promptly forget those movements.

        1. John Gillis

I agree. I don’t believe for a second that these elections were not rigged. They were rigged in 2016 when they favored Hillary and Trump’s election turned the tables. Trump defeated the cheat. That set off the “Russian collusion” accusations – you and I both know those accusations were mere projection.

It’s going to get a lot worse – wait until Biden floats the idea of draining our 401k and IRAs.

    1. AuntiE*TFL

Unfortunately, it is unsurprising. There will never be another Republican held Congress nor White House. The fix has been established.

  23. Tony

“News that Democrats have held the US Senate after midterm elections this week has sparked recriminations within the Republican Party.

Critics of former President Donald Trump blamed him for the poor showing while other Republicans faulted their Senate leader, Mitch McConnell.

The White House, meanwhile, made its strongest indication yet that President Joe Biden will run for re-election.

The race for the US House of Representatives remains uncalled.

Republicans are still favoured to win the lower chamber of Congress which would severely hamper President Joe Biden’s plans but their likely majority is
shrinking as votes continue to be counted “.

        1. Weary Traveler

(Presidentialwire.com)- The “fate of our democracy” is in the balance, according to Democrats running for office. They maintain that one of the biggest challenges to the republic’s survival is “misinformation.” Additionally, Democratic billionaires are investing tens of millions of dollars in creating fake news outlets to influence unsuspecting people to “fix” the purported information crisis. But it is all an effort to maintain their political power.

Throughout the previous few election cycles, the Left has perfected a sophisticated form of “pink slime” propaganda. They pass off partisan advertising as “news” from reliable local periodicals.

To create articles that criticize Republicans in competitive races, partisan Democratic operatives have used former liberal journalists. These articles are then surrounded by non-political material to make it seem like a legit periodical. This propaganda is being distributed to voters online and through numerous digital media. Many of these shady information operations are funded by the most prominent names in the Democratic donor community, including George Soros and Reid Hoffman.

David Brock, a longtime liberal hitman, and Tara McGowan, a former campaign’s digital staff member, are two of the most renowned agitprop creators. Both operatives put into reality the very things they criticize. McGowan asserts that her work involves combating disinformation, whereas Brock laments that “misinformation is an existential threat to democracy.”

In reality, Brock’s American Independent conglomerate, which includes multiple state-level variations, is everything but independent. An alleged $28 million budget supports his fierce political network. It has affiliated businesses in Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which are always crucial battleground states. The physical propaganda of The Independent even has a crossword puzzle and has the appearance of a local newspaper. The Independent’s Pennsylvania edition has a circulation of 953,000, according to The Washington Post, making it the most widely read newspaper in the Keystone State. Because they violated Facebook’s advertising policies, many of their stories promoted in Pennsylvania and Arizona have been taken down.

McGowan’s Courier Newsroom constellation consists of locally branded publications in eight battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia. In a leaked memo, McGowan clarified that her goal was to win elections.

The next time you hear Democrats crow about the threat of “misinformation,” ask them how concerned they are with their party’s fake news “publications.”

    1. Sapper 9

The postal workers union gets payoffs from the Democrats in congress and they carry the ballots, an incentive for corruption.

    🔥 *Today’s Yahrtzeit: Rav Dovid Feinstein, zt”l*
    Yehi Zichro Boruch. 💔💔💔😪😪😪

Rav Dovid was born in Luban, Russia in 1929 to his illustrious parents Rav and Rebbetzin Moshe Feinstein. When he was eight years old his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Manhattan.

Rav Dovid attended the Yeshiva of his father, Mesivta Tiferres Yerushalayim. He would eventually go on to succeed his father as Rosh Yeshiva, a post he would maintain until his petirah (death) in 2020.

Rav Dovid was a Gaon who finished Shas (the entire Gemara) over 100 times and had a command over kol HaTorah kulah (all of the entirety of the Torah). He was from the leading Rabbinic supporters of Artscroll Mesorah publications, and sat on the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel. He was also on the Vaad Roshei Yeshiva of Torah U’mesorah, and was involved with Chinuch Atzmai and Agudas Horabbanim.

Together with his gadlus (greatness), Rav Dovid was renowned for his humble simplicity. He would do his household shopping and would change the soda machines in his Yeshiva. He was a unique Gaon (extremely great and holy sage) and Tzaddik (righteous person) who carried the weight of the Tzibbur (community) on his shoulders.

OMG… one of the very few times I can ever say synchronicity was actually a positive. This is so apropos to what Rabbi Tovia Singer was saying in that video you sent me, about how certain religions appeal to the worst in the human condition.

This silly notion of “unconditional love” is a prime example of this, as is being pointed out here. Ayn Rand talked about this a lot, and warned how this is what laid the foundation for Nazi Germany. Unconditional love, and failing to draw boundaries because of it, is exactly how society got itself in to the mess it is currently in.

          Good morning my dear Rebekah.
In my opinion we must change our focus from merely expecting politicians to do the right thing and focus on the Republican Party leadership. I plan to take names and communicate my concerns directly to county and state Republican officials. They are not performing due diligence where election fraud appears to be an issue. I was a poll watcher this election and even in my heavily red district where all my candidates were elected, I witnessed questionable practices, and nothing was done to correct them.

          1. Proud Conservative Mom

            I concur absolutely.

Last year, NJ had a gubernatorial election.
People saw their votes being changed in front of their eyes.
New machines “mysteriously” broke for hours.
Thousands in heavily red areas waited hours to vote while the machines were being “fixed” (in more ways than one).
They were denied extended time to vote.

My sister and my relatives bore witness to this in southern NJ.

I waited for an hour for the machines to be “fixed.”

            The leadership is garbage.
No one has any guts or courage to stand up against the fraud and cheating.

            It’s outrageous!

How have you been feeling by the way?
I’m rolling with the punches. 😊😊😊

          2. Lorraine

Who are your Republican Party leaders in your county and state?
You should all rally together to replace them. Failing that deregister as many have and become Independents. DO NOT MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RNC.

          3. Proud Conservative Mom

            We’re on that.
My husband was voted into office (the lowest tier in the Republican Party tier in the state along with a friend of his).
He gets to vote to replace some of the leaders.

I haven’t given money to the GOP in years.
They finally stopped calling me after I’ve been giving them Hell for several years.

The Democrat Party called me a few times.
I gave it to them much worse.

            They haven’t bothered me lately.

          4. Lorraine

Good on you and your husband, my friend. That’s one area you can and did make a difference.
I apologize for using all caps. It reads like ranting. It wasn’t directed at you wise woman that you are, but to any who read my comment and can’t see the forest for the trees.
The GOP is collaborating with Democrats across the board.

            No worries dear Lorraine! 💞
            I didn’t take offense.
            You couldn’t possibly offend me.
It takes alot to do so.

            FYI, AuntiE has great rants.
I’m always happy to read them.

“The GOP is collaborating with Democrats across the board.”

The RINOS are most definitely doing so.
Tragically, there are very few like Louie Gohmert, Josh Hawley, and Tom Cotton.

            Sigh…

          6. AuntiE*TFL

In the Great Commonwealth of Virginia, during the Youngkin election, the Republicans had an attorney at EVERY voting precinct. One precinct had machine issues. The attorney was on the phone with the Board of Elections in about three minutes flat. Issue resolved in ten minutes. That is how it is done. No namby pamby weak knee idiot. Straight up legal on the spot.

O’Connor had a few too many when he saw three obese women come up to the bartender and order some drinks. The man noticed they had strong accents, which grabbed his attention. The women were there for a while and were quite loud and a bit rude. Feeling rather buzzed, O’Connor looked over to the girls and said “Hi, um, are you girls from Scotland?” The largest of the three woman, with a loud, nasty attitude said “It’s WALES you idiot!!!” O’Connor apologized with a little slur and said “I’m so sorry, are you whales from Scotland?”

Obviously O’Conner wasn’t that drunk, otherwise the whales would look attractive.

Even the oppressive CCP is starting to recognize that when a people have nothing to lose, there will be nothing stopping them from coming after you.. Other world “leaders” and NGOs are failing to learn this as they continue to steal elections around the world, not just here in the US. Worth the read I think. Very good description of the current sorry state of affairs. Excerpt of the real difference between votes and ballots. “…Votes are the expressed intention of a voter for a particular government leader. Ballots are filled out pieces of paper that express the choice of a particular leader. Both are counted for an election. In the current system, ballots are gathered or harvested either, legally or illegally, and submitted. Given the lack of prosecution, the legality of it apparently does not matter. Votes represent the will of the people; ballots may or may not…” Tom McAllister

      How are you doing?

Indeed, greed (and I opine power) are the forces that motivate these evil people who are hellbent on destroying us.

YES! The Constitution was written for a moral nation.
Tragically, many have lost their way and the country has been purposefully flooded with illegals to sway elections to their favor.

Thirty trillion dollars in debt, and the Dems continue to spend as if money grows on trees!

“With God, all things are possible.”
      Absolutely.
That’s from Judaism as are all of our founding principles.

“If we, the people, who are called by His Name will humble ourselves and pray, seek His Face, and repent of our wicked ways, then God will hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and restore our land (see 2 Chron. 7:14).”

That verse in 2 Chronicles refers exclusively to the land of Israel.

That being said, if people repent, good things will absolutely occur.

Indeed, Nineveh repented and was spared.
(As a side bar, I often ask missionaries how they can explain the book of Jonah. I was told by a few that it’s an exception. 🧐🙄
      NOT TRUE.
For sins done intentionally, repentance is and always has been MANDATORY.
The sin sacrifice was only for sins done inadvertently.
The book of Jonah is a screaming attestation against the creeds of Christianity, in of itself.)

      That was an excellent article.
Thank you most kindly for posting it!

Antisemitic graffiti was found at the Bethesda Trolley Trail in Maryland on Monday, including stick figures hanging from gallows alongside the words “no mercy for Jews,” as well as a swastika.

Commenting both on Monday’s graffiti discovery and the recent distribution of antisemitic flyers in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Jewish Federation of Greater Washington CEO Gil Preuss said in a statement, “These antisemitic and hateful symbols and materials have no place in our society.”

          1. AuntiE*TFL

Funny how this kind of thing happens a lot in Democrat precincts. I remember back in 1998 when Michael Savage’s son, Russ, was running for state assembly in the 6th district which is Marin and Sonoma counties. Both of which lean heavy Democrat. And Russ’ signs and billboards were covered in Swastikas.

        1. Weary Traveler

If you are talking about Russ’ signs, very few of them were left untouched. The rich wokerati live in Marin county. And they have the nerve to call us Nazis.

Right? They want you to think it’s people that live in places like northern Idaho that do stuff like that. Northern Idaho actually ran out their Neo-Nazis 20 years ago for causing trouble. That alone tells you the real difference between red precincts and blue precincts.
